'ello. ^___^ My name is Chelsea, most everyone calls me either Liz or Lizzeh (don't ask, long story?). I dwell from CheetaChat, or what is usually sortened down to as "CChat". For those of you who have no fekkin' idea what the hell CheetaChat is, click here or go to CheetaChat.com :3.
Anyway. I am 15 years old, still living with my parents and so on. I <3 making graphics, so this is why I <3 making icons in LJ so much. Plus the nifty fact that people actually like my icons enough to use and nominate them in places rawks beyond all reasons. X3

I wont bite, I promise! Just be nice, do what I ask, and I'm perfectly friendly to you, savvy? ;D

Da Spiffy Rules


Sharing is so wonderful. =D Everyone must share! Share the luff n.n;!
Drop a tip on which icons you're using. Comment, email, IM, owl (yes, I got Harry Potter on the brain.. make it go away ><;) what ever is nessisary, as long as you let me know!
Credit is also really wonderful. PLEASE CREDIT SO MORE PEOPLE CAN COME O_O! eh, I mean.. well, yeah. Anywho.
Requests are okay. I'd like requests! I LOVE REQUESTS~! Chant with me! Uhm, scroll down to see more on what to do when requesting.
Self-customising is okay. As long as you tell who ever made the base and they give you promission.
Icon bashing and Flaming is horrible.. if any of this happens I'm going to make this journal Friends-only. Okay? That's the warning to you.
Criticism is always welcome. As long as its constructive.
Claiming anyones icons that are not yours is SO DAMN WRONG! ~~; I will KEEEEEEEEL you if you do! Don't believe me?! -shakes- JUST TRY ME OO;! This will also result into making my journal friends only if this happens more than ONCE. So, yeah, only one chance. Don't screw it up!
Asking Information about icons and how I made them n' such to mess with on your own is okay. n.n; Just give me some credit if I helped you with idea's or giving you inspiration. Yes. I'm a biggy on credit. Credddiiitt.. yummy~ **;;

Requesting Icons

Okay, this is whatcha gotta do. On the most recent post, drop a comment with the following things: (x's are important)

xPicture(s): The Picture if you know how to use HTML, the URL (http:// address) if you don't. If you have no clue, describe who you'd want. A picture of so or so.
Design: Put here stuff on how you want it to look. The style, n' such. If there's an icon that you've seen that could clear it up cause you're bad at describing, then show n.n;
xWording: Your name, your LJ name or some catchy phrase.. or even lyrics. But if you do lyrics, tell me who it's by and the song title.
Extra Info: Whatever else you want me to know about. o_@;



Okay, thats about it. <.<; I just wanted to make sure you knew how to do this, cause many people would be kinda like "I WANT AN ICON! MAKE ME ONE!"

Crediting

Once not too long ago I ran into someones journal where they explained how they were against crediting people for icons. They did bring up some good points, but I have better.
Though us icon makers do usually find pictures to make into icons, we spend a lot of time into making them. Or else, I do. Crediting is just a way to make sure we know that the people who are taking our icons understand people do steal them and we're sick of it. By stealing, I don't mean just not crediting us; but taking and saying THEY made the icon. Yes, people do take icons we create and say they made them hoping to get some sort of praise for the work they did not do. Well, in fact, they get just the opposite. They get our foots stuck up their asses 'cause we're sick and tired of it. They can go out and get the programs and surf the web and get the pictures and actually learn how to do it on their own, they do not need to steal our talent in graphic designing. And yes I mean talent because we all have our own way of making icons. Now, back to reasons why you should credit and why we stress this on everyone most of the time;
-Crediting lets others know you did not make the icon and who did, so they can visit the creator of the icon and if they want to use it they can ask us and not you. (I'm pretty sure that could get annoying)
-Crediting lets us creators know you do not plan to steal our icons so we don't have to get pissed and be up your throat with demands of crediting and/or removing the icon. We all want to be nice here, right? :D
-Crediting lets us know you appreciate us and our work on the icon. Sure commenting with nice things is wonderful, but crediting means a lot more to us than anything.
I'll possibly think of more reasons why Crediting is all dandy and fine. I don't really stress the subject as much as everyone else does.. but seeing someone say that crediting isn't something we icon makers shouldn't get so touchy about is kinda depressing.

Programs and Fonts


The programs I usually use would be Paint Shop Pro 7, Animation Shop 3, and Photoshop 6.1. You can buy these anywhere (AS3 comes with PSP7) or download free trials if you want to online. And even get the whole thing free off of something like KaZaA (you didn't hear this from me!)


All the fonts I have can be found @ DaFont.com!

The small fonts I usually use on icons would be:
1.Minimum (mostly used)
2.Seiben
3.Ernest

The big fonts I actually just went to DaFont.com and downloaded as many as I could from A - B and I also went through S.
I'll list some of my favorites when I get that list. X3 As for now you can just go through DaFont and find yours. There's just too many to look through in my current font folder.
